Godrej Appliances rides on design innovation- launches "Eon Vogue" wood-finish, nature-inspired ACs & Refrigerators ~ Brand aims to grow its premium segment

 



MUMBAI, 27th FEBRUARY, 2024 (NHM):   Godrej Appliances, part of Godrej & Boyce, flagship company of the Godrej Group, has launched Eon Vogue, a new series of nature-inspired wood-finish home appliances. SOCIETY FOR FAST JUSTICE HAS PLANS TO MOVE COURT AFTER COLLECTING DATA FROM AGRIEVED PERSONS AND WILL ORGANISE A MEETING ON 2nd MARCH


MUMBAI, 27th FEBRUARY, 2024 (NHM):   Society For Fast Justice is duly registered Society. It takes up issues of injustice and common issues of the people.

Rajendra J. Thacker, President of Society For Fast Justice (SFFJ) informed that a meeting has been organized on Saturday, 2nd March,2024 from 10 am to 12.30 pm at Yogi Sabha Gruh, near Swaminarayan Mandir, Dadar Railway Station (Central Railway).

All aggrieved persons having grievances with builders as well as General Public is invited to attend this meeting on Saturday, 2nd March, 2024.

The meeting will create awareness among aggrieved and homeless people, who have been affected by money minded builders having guts to totally ignore rules of the land, government systems, including the Judiciary. These builders have betrayed the trust of the people in various manner, bringing many of them on roads without a place of dwelling.

The purpose of the meeting is to create awareness among such aggrieved people, who do not possess means to fight these powerful lobby of builders and eventually they are ruined & turned homeless by the builders. It is a very unfortunate state of affairs in our country where neither government, police and nor Judiciary has taken any timely steps to help the sufferings of these people.

Some of the broad categories under which the common men have been fleeced & cheated by the builders are:

1, Tenant’s room/flat is demolished. Promise made to reconstruct or redevelop. Nothing is done. Neither rent is paid. Thousands of tenants are homeless today.

2. Builders/Developers have booked flats and collected money. Agreement is also registered but possession is not given for years as buildings are not completed.

3. There are court order and RERA orders, which have been flouted by the builders and not been implemented by the concerned authorities.

4. Several Builders have taken money as booking amount and given allotment letter. In many cases, MOU is prepared on stamp papers and got is notarized and builders collected huge sums of money from trusting public.

5. 308 projects by 75 builders are incomplete for years as these 75 builders have declared themselves Bankrupt. Even if there are minimum50 flats on average, 15,000 families are made homeless by these builders. As a paradox, all these builders are staying in posh flats and having numbers of luxury cars at the cost of these families, Neither Judiciary nor the government has acted to help these poor people, who are ruined not only financially but also mentally by running from pillar to post in various government offices.

6. Many families have taken loans for buying flats from banks. Such Loan amounts are used by the builders and possession not given to these buyers. Thus, Buyers are paying EMIs against their loans to the banks without possession. It is a clear injustice. Government can enact a law that if possession is not given as per agreement in time, EMIs have to be paid by the builders till the possession is given. But advocates advice that each and every buyer must go to court to stop EMI. It is foolishness. Even a common man can understand that it is injustice.

7. Many tenants are forced to sale their rooms at 50% cost, since owners and builders do not start work of development. Out of fear that it will take long time, tenants are forced to negotiate. People have lost faith in judiciary as 4.75 crores cases are pending in courts at different levels by filing petitions. But there is no time frame to give justice and finalize the petitions. Instead rich builders move from court to court to evade justice in favour of public even when the case is open n shut with evidences in favour of the petitioners. (Aggrieved property buyers).

8. Many builders and Developers have sold flat and got it registered without IOD. ( Intimation of Deficiency means builders plan is approved in principle by BMC with certain conditions)

9. Approximately 50,000 (fifty thousand) or more people are homeless today. We appeal to all of them to get together against judiciary and government by strengthening the hands of Society For Fast Justice.

Ashish Mehta, Secretary of the Society For Fast Justice informed that the Society has decided to go to court on behalf of all aggrieved persons who are made homeless and cheated by builders and developers. We are collecting data from all aggrieved persons who are being harassed by builder lobby.

Society for fast justice was registered in 2008. In the last 16 years, the Society has given legal opinion free of charge to citizens. Our President has filed more than 15 Public Interest litigations. We keep on working unstintingly for those poor victims who need legal help.

For the last three years, the Society has been working in the direction to reform Judiciary & outdated legal provisions of British rule and justice system based on dominating policy.

A. There are 4.75 crore cases pending. We keep on writing to Supreme Court and Central Government to initiate negotiations and find out just and fair way to give justice to such large number of aggrieved citizens who have not received justice from Judiciary and fighting corrupt system where the bureaucracy and wealthy builders are hand in glove. Our System of Justice definitely needs several reforms to expeditiously help the common men in a fixed time frame.

B. Even today, if any petition for justice is filed in the court, there is no time bound commitment by Judges or advocates as per present laws. As the saying goes, “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied” is very apt and applicable for poor citizens of India. Huge reform is the need of the hour.

Therefore, we appeal to shut down / modify such institutions who do not work in the interest of common men, specifically where justice is concerned. Grass root reforms are the need of the hour as No builders and developers are afraid of court order or enacted law.

Art Grooves – Display of Magnificence and Opulence hosted at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai from 22nd to 25th Feb, 2024

With 18 artists participating from Art Grooves, each having his own unique style ,this is an exhibition worth a visit.
Art Grooves was started by artist Poornima Dayal in the year 2020. Poornima, who does this pro bono, is herself an artist says ‘ these artists are wonderful and their exemplary artworks are on display with Art Grooves. These artworks may be viewed at this exhibition at booth no’s 51,52,53 and 54.

Sandhya Jathar’s semi abstract style, Suneil Baukhandi ‘s depiction of Ajanta n Ellora , Sapna Anand ‘s distinctive Abstracts, Noman’s magnificent Cityscapes , Arush Dayal’s vibrant ‘Ramlila’ and many more wonderful works can be viewed at this ongoing exhibition.

Mallika Gurnani ‘s Black n White photographs are mystifying.

“DURGASAPTASHATI” - A Spiritual paintings by Artist Udayraj Gadnis hosted at Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Worli from 21st to 26th Feb, 2024

  World renowned spiritual / mystic artist Shri. Udayraj Gadnis has showcased his latest paintings titled “DURGASAPTASHATI” in Nehru Centre art gallery, Dr. A. B. Road, Worli, Mumbai from 21st to 26th Feb, 2024 between 11 am to 7 pm. This exhibition is very significant and very symbolic. Udayraj Gadnis have been painting for the last 30 to 35 years with over 3,000 oil paintings on canvas. But this is the very first time in art journey that he have painted 180 paintings in 180 days and are being displayed together under one roof in one gallery.

Udayraj Gadnis Says "I am really blessed with the blessings of my mother Gitanjali Barve Gadnis and my father Anant Vishwanath Gadnis who during the pandemic time witnessed my journey. It's an interesting story. I had come to look after my parents in the month of March in 2020 and there was a sudden lockdown. And at that time, I thought the world was to come to an end because you could not even breathe comfortably, corona virus as in those days was believed would mark the end of human race. I thought let me do something unusual and divine and beautiful and so decided to paint the Durgasaptashati. The philosophy of Durgasaptshati is very simple; it's a story which is unique which reflects on the fight between the divine and the detached demonic powers. 



It shows that ultimately truth will triumph, victory over human ego and pride, and peace will be restored, somewhere in the near future, at the rate things are going today. Durgasaptashati is now symbolic and important for mankind, taking the inspiration, seeing the beautiful faces & scenes of Durgasaptashati and the war scenes; he realized that there was no reference to how it is seen in the 21st century. So he meditated and decided to paint it from a vision, his inner vision. If we look at those 180 pictures, they contain the original verse, 700 complete verses, which is a beauty in itself, it is not possible to actually see the entire 700 verses under one roof and that’s why he portrayed it in a way that is very important and unique.  



He always believes that art that seeps itself in the colors of divinity will remain for a long time and will be viewed by the next and the next and the next generation. It will be inspirational, just the way Indian miniatures have inspired many artists in the past, including me. What is truly important is that today we live in a society that we are blessed with the freedom to paint our own inner vision. He has painted divinity which he sees in his own meditative understanding in his own meditative vision. Durgasaptashati, which is phenomenal in its narrative scale, is also very beautifully captured in various colors. And this is what, he saw in his meditative eyes. Their aim is to bring the audience closer to not just seeing, not just learning, but knowing and experiencing




This art exhibition is dedicated in loving memory to late Smt. Latika Gaitonde, who personally saw and blessed this entire series during the pandemic in 2020. It is her son Shree Girish Gaitonde who had the spiritual power and divine conviction to nurture and support this entire project, understanding and appreciating my vision all along. I am grateful to his entire family for the respect and affection they have always showered on me and my art.Ends

या प्रकल्पात शापूरजी पालोनजी यांनी सुरक्षा, प्रकाश व्यवस्था आणि वातानुकूलन यासारख्या आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञान आणि प्राचीन भारतीय वास्तुकलेच्या पारंपरिक गरजा यांची यशस्वी सांगड साधली आहे.

देवालय परिसरात 7 आणखी इमारती असून नियमित 15,000 हून अधिक व्यक्ती भेट देतील. इथे गंगा, यमुना आणि सरस्वती अशा तीन प्रमुख नद्यांचे प्रतिनिधित्व करणारे जलस्रोत तयार करण्यात आले आहेत. मुख्य मंदिराची उभारणी तराफ्याच्या पायावर करण्यात आली असून संयुक्त अरब अमिरातीमधील फ्लाय-अॅश काँक्रीटच्या सर्वात मोठ्या सिंगल पोअर तंत्राचा वापर यामध्ये दिसतो. लोखंड आणि पोलाद मजबुतीकरणाऐवजी बांबूच्या काठ्या आणि ग्लास फायबरचा वापर करण्यात आला. 

देवालयाचा ढाचा या पायावर उभारला गेला, ज्यामध्ये बीएपीएस करिता इटलीतून मागविण्यात आलेल्या 40,000 क्युबिक मीटर संगमरवराचा तसेच राजस्थानच्या 1,80,000 क्युबिक मीटर पिंक सॅंडस्टोनचा वापर करण्यात आला. बीएपीएस मंदिर निर्मितीकरिता हजारो कलाकार आणि स्वयंसेवक राजस्थानात दगडावर कोरीवकाम करण्यात गुंतले होते. त्यानंतर हे दगड अबू धाबी येथे आणल्यावर भव्य जिग-सॉ पझलसारखे एकत्र ठेवण्यात आले.  

शापूरजी पालोनजी समूह तब्बल 159 वर्षे जुना असून जगभरातील वास्तूकलेचे काही सर्वोत्तम नमुने त्यांच्या नावावर जमा आहेत. त्यांनी 1975 मध्ये मस्कतमधील सुलतानचा राजवाडा उभारला. तो मध्यपूर्वेत जवळपास 50 वर्षांपासून अस्तित्वात आहे. त्यांचे भारतातील त्याचे अलीकडील काही प्रमुख प्रकल्प म्हणजे नवी दिल्लीतील भारत मंडपम आणि कर्तव्य पथ, पोर्ट ब्लेअर विमानतळ आणि हिमाचल प्रदेशातील अटल बोगदा.

सुप्रिया लाइफसायन्स लिमिटेडने महाराष्ट्र सरकारच्या राज्य निर्यात आणि सामंजस्य करार पुरस्कारांमध्ये ८ सुवर्ण पुरस्कार पटकाविले

१५ फेब्रुवारी २०२४ (NHM): ऍक्टिव्ह  फार्मास्युटिकल इंग्रिडियंट्स (एपीआय) निर्मिती मध्ये जागतिक आघाडीवर असलेल्या सुप्रिया लाइफसायन्स लिमिटेडने महाराष्ट्र सरकारच्या राज्य निर्यात आणि सामंजस्य करार ( MOU Signing ) पुरस्कारांमध्ये ८ -सुवर्ण पुरस्कार पटकावून  एक उल्लेखनीय कामगिरी केली. हे पुरस्कार महाराष्ट्रातील सर्वोच्च सन्मानांपैकी एक आहे. हा सोहळा  मा. उद्योग मंत्री, श्री उदय सामंत , महाराष्ट्र सरकार तसेच  डॉ. हर्षदीप कांबळे I.A.S, प्रधान सचिव (INDS) महाराष्ट्र सरकार , डॉ. विपिन शर्मा IAS मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी, महाराष्ट्र औद्योगिक विकास महामंडळ (MIDC) आणि श्री दीपेंद्रसिंग कुशवाह, I.A.S, विकास आयुक्त (उद्योग) आणि निर्यात आयुक्त यांच्या उपस्थितीत पार पडला. देशाच्या आर्थिक प्रगतीसाठी आणि विकासासाठी योगदान देणाऱ्या ,विविध उद्योग तज्ज्ञांच्या  प्रयत्नांची पराकाष्टा  करण्याच्या उद्दिष्टाने, त्यांनी  सुप्रिया लाइफसायन्सला केमिकल आणि फार्मा या  एमएसआय श्रेणी अंतर्गत एक्सपोर्ट हाऊसमधील  त्यांच्या उल्लेखनीय कामगिरीबद्दल सन्मानित केले.

Canara Robeco Mutual Fund Launches New NFO, The NFO Opens on 16th February and Closes on 1 March 2024

  Canara Robeco Mutual Fund, India's second oldest mutual fund today announced the launch of Canara Robeco Manufacturing Fund in an attempt to capitalize on India's potential to become the next manufacturing hub. The fund is an open-ended equity scheme that represents India's manufacturing theme and will be benchmarked against the S&P BSE India Manufacturing TRI. The NFO, opens on February 16, 2024, and offers a medium to provide a dedicated allocation to the manufacturing sector. The NFO will remain open until March 01, 2024.

"The Canara Robeco Manufacturing Fund enters the market at a pivotal moment when there is a rising middle class and rising working-age population in India. This fund will be suitable for established investors because of the thriving domestic demand, favourable policy reforms, robust and deleveraged corporate balance sheet and a stable political environment. India seems to be well positioned to become an attractive investment destination. This fund will seek to benefit from policy reforms like Atmanirbhar Bharat, PLI, Make in India, Single Window Clearance and import substitution," said Rajnish Narula, CEO, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund.

"India is witnessing the confluence of factors which are conducive for the manufacturing scale up. Factors such as, large and growing domestic market, favourable government policies, fiscal support for capex, de-leveraged corporate balance sheets and global supply chain rejig which is allowing Indian manufacturers to participate in export value chain. Import substitution and export ecosystem is likely the outcome of these macro factors.

With this fund, we are providing the investors with the opportunity to become a part of India's manufacturing growth story. The fund will adopt a growth strategy aiming to capitalize on manufacturing trends and opportunities, investing across relevant sectors, representing the manufacturing theme," said Shridatta Bhandwaldar, Head Equities, Canara Robeco.

This fund is suitable for investors comfortable with volatility and expecting a better risk-return tradeoff, with a high-risk appetite and a long-term investment horizon of 5 years and above, having lower near- term liquidity needs. The fund will invest minimum 80% into manufacturing & allied stocks, 0-20% in equity and equity-related Instruments of companies other than engaged in manufacturing theme, 0-20% in debt and debt market instruments and 0-10% in units issued by REITs and InvITs. The minimum investment in the fund is Rs. 5,000 and in multiplies of Re. 1 thereafter.

Sonam Kapoor graces GJEPC’s 7th Artisan Jewellery Design Awards 2024; Celebrates & Honours Design & Craftsmanship



NATIONAL, 14th FEBRUARY, 2024 (NHM): The 7th edition of The Artisan Jewellery Design Awards, hosted by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and powered by GIA, challenged designers to tap uncharted territory by integrating unusual materials and cherished objects into their jewellery designs, to infuse their pieces with a unique identity. 

Actress and style icon Sonam Kapoor graced GJEPC’s 7th edition of Artisan Jewellery Design Awards in Mumbai and presented awards to winners. Sonam Kapoor graced the stage with an aura of elegance and charisma along Mr. Vipul Shah (Chairman, GJEPC); Mr. Kirit Bhansali (Vice Chairman, GJEPC); Mr. Sriram Natarajan (Managing Director, GIA India); Mr. Milan Chokshi (Convener, Promotions & Marketing, GJEPC); Mr. Sabyasachi Ray (Executive Director, GJEPC) bestowed the coveted awards upon 6 Artisan winners. 

This year the theme for the Artisan Jewellery Desing Award were two unconventional themes - ‘Objet Trouvé’ (Found Objects) and ‘Unusual Materials’. 

The concept of 'Objet Trouvé' centred around crafting jewellery pieces that capture the essence of treasured objects from the past within a contemporary context. While the second theme, ‘Unusual Materials’ encouraged designers to create a dialogue between the familiar and the unexpected by combining contrasting materials with at least 50% precious materials.

This jewellery design contest ignited a spark a wave of creativity, prompting nearly 600 participants from India and abroad to push the envelope, and create a new design grammar. The outcome surpassed expectations, breathtaking creations that challenged convention.

The entries underwent thorough scrutiny by a distinguished jury comprising Alice Cicolini, a renowned UK jewellery designer; Biren Vaidya, Managing Director of The Rose Group; Payal Singhal, Fashion Designer; Apoorva Deshingkar, Senior Director of Education and Market Development at GIA India; and Toktam Shekarriz, a jewellery designer based in Dubai.

The technical jury included Devinder Layal, Jewellery Artiste and Educationist; Meenal Choksi, Head of Design, Moksh Fine Unseen Jewellery; Sushama Kalzunkar Sawant, PD & Merchandising Head, Diagold Creation; Janki Choksi, Founder, Janki Choksi Designs; Gunjan Sapra, COO & Head of Department, Jewellery Designs, International Institute of Gemology, and a GIA Instructor, to honour the best and most talented jewellery designers.


During this illustrious event, GJEPC also honoured industry stalwarts whose remarkable contributions have made a lasting impact on both the domestic and global fronts. The nominations were evaluated by a distinguished three-member jury comprising Arundhati De, jewellery expert and bespoke jewellery shopping consultant; Devinder Layal and Sushma Kalzunkar Sawant. 

Farah Khan, renowned jewellery designer, was honoured with the Design Excellence Award, while Rahul Jhaveri, Creative Head and Co-founder of Studio Renn, was bestowed with the prestigious Global Indian Jewellery Designer award.

Intergem Exports (YS18) was chosen as the proud recipient of the Manufacturing Excellence Award, underscoring its commitment to quality and innovation, while Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers was acclaimed with the Retail Excellence Award for its exceptional standards and customer service.

The two-day art festival was held on February 12th-13th, 2024, at Ice Factory, Ballard Estate, Mumbai, and drew a diverse audience including curators, art gallery owners, patrons, art school students and faculty members, socialites, celebrities, connoisseurs, architects, painters, sculptors, and jewellery designers.

The GJEPC is the apex body of the gems & jewellery industry and today around 9,600 members in the sector.  With headquarters in Mumbai, GJEPC has Regional Offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Surat and Jaipur, all of which are major centres for the industry. It thus has a wide reach and is able to have a closer interaction with members to serve them in a direct and more meaningful manner. Over the past decades, GJEPC has emerged as one of the most active EPCs and has continuously strived to both expand its reach and depth in its promotional activities as well as widen and increase services to its members.

UNUSUAL MATERIALS

Winner 

Crafted from fine leather, moss agate, gold and diamonds, the pair of reversible pair of cufflinks features a discreetly positioned SIM card chip tying up fashion and function.

First Runner-up

The curvaceous black gold bracelet is designed with areca palm leaves and studded with diamonds.

Inspired by the Konark Sun Temple, the stylised spherical earrings employ wood, gold, natural white sapphires, and citrine.

Winner 

The gold danglers use the manjadi kuru, or lucky seeds (Adenanthera pavonine), capturing the essence of pure innocence and joy from childhood.

Made from pinecone wood, the hair accessory features two pinecones looped with 22-karat gold diamond-studded cords of varying lengths.

The earrings are crafted from genuine one-rupee notes, featuring 10-paise old, scalloped coins as posts encased in gold. The folded earrings are adorned with diamonds.
